What's New - May 2020

A message from our Executive Director
Dear GABA community,
We hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe during the challenging times of this pandemic. GABA's strength lies in our community and we are here to support you. To that effect, we have some good news: GABA has extended all individual memberships that would have expired recently and in the coming two months at no cost, now expiring on July 1. This way everyone has the opportunity to join GABA's journey of going digital.
Several GABA events have already moved online - check them out below and on our website. We are adding new events weekly. As GABA members value networking highly, we incorporate networking elements into our virtual events as much as possible. Did you already tune into some of our online meetings? Please share your feedback as we continue to add interaction to our virtual formats!
In other news, GABA is also very excited to announce Juliane Nandra as the new Chair of the GABA Board. Juliane is looking forward to advocating for all our members and sponsors. She has already started to provide excellent guidance through this especially turbulent time of change, helping GABA define its strategy for the future. She brings with her a broad business/strategy background, she served as GABA CFO for the last three years and has a passion for bringing people together to make meaningful connections. Juliane will be a great fit to lead the board of GABA's professional German-American community. Check out her full professional bio here. Welcome Juliane!
More than ever the GABA community is encouraged to support each other so we can all come out of this global crisis even stronger and more connected than before. Please reach out to us if there is anything GABA can do to help you and/or your communities.

Inside GABA

A big thank you to everyone who took their time to fill out our recent survey - and special congratulations to the winners of new individual memberships: Donna T., Leslie B. and Henning W.!

A few highlights of the results:
  • Increasing your business connections and expanding your professional network is your main expectation of GABA.
  • Many of you like and enjoy GABA's regular panel discussion and networking events, and we received great suggestions for other formats which we will incorporate into our GABA 2.0 Strategy.
  • Even in non-Covid-19 times, some virtual online offerings would help you to stay connected, bridging traffic and distances. (Please check our calendar for new online events regularly.)
  • Your responses overwhelmingly confirmed that our newsletter and email communications are the primary and preferred source of communication from GABA.
Thank you again for your participation, and keep your comments and suggestions coming!
