We are proud to announce that Konstantin Guericke, Co-Founder of LinkedIn, will receive the GABA Award of Excellence at the GABA Gala 2018.  Konstantin is a social architect with a passion for exploring the intersection of psychology, sociology and computing. He co-founded LinkedIn with Reid Hoffman, Allen Blue, Jean-Luc Vaillant and Eric Ly and led the company's marketing from the pre-product phase to profitability in 2006. Meet our new Operations Director, Gisela Qasim:  As a consultant to Deutsche Post DHL, she managed large IT and engineering projects in different fields of global logistics.  During this time, she also worked as a private consultant for the Brainstormers Tribots AI robotic soccer team, contributing ideas and solutions for mid-sized as well as humanoid robots. When her husband invented and produced the first-to-market smart phone based VR headset in 2013, she supported his startup as the Marketing Communications Manager.

On 17 May 2017, the German Ministry of Finance released a draft circular aimed at resolving the on-going debate on the application of withholding tax in the context of software and database licensing from foreign entities to German licensees. Game developers but also publishers outside of Germany grapple with this issue when they use German publishing partners or even their own German subsidiaries to distribute games on a royalty basis, which may be subject to withholding tax.
