With a successful kick-off event at on March 18th at the Residential Palace our Munich chapter is in full swing and will take our mission to foster transatlantic knowledge-sharing and networking among German-American and Californian business and tech communities to the next level. In March GABA partnered with SAP StarupFocus to host Driving Innovation in Connected Car, a deep dive into the inefficiencies of cars on the road today and a long term view of the kinds of vehicles consumers will themselves in 15 -20 years' time. Robert Bosch LLC
The California Energy Commission has announced a proposed award to Robert Bosch LLC to demonstrate the effectiveness, viability and benefits of its Direct-Current Building-Scale Microgrid Platform. The Bosch DC microgrid project intends to provide a low-cost, highly energy-efficient solution which allows commercial buildings to become zero-net-energy users in a cost-effective manner.

A team led by Daniel Zimmermann at WilmerHale represented Berlin-based GoodsCloud Inc. in connection with its $6.2 million Series Seed Preferred Stock financing and the acquisition of the assets of pepperbill GmbH.  GoodsCloud is a cloud-based commerce network that connects online shops, local stores, marketplaces, warehouses, suppliers, third party logistics and more.  Investors included Stephan Schambach, General Catalyst and various angel investors.

Muhsin Omurca (*1959) is a German-Turkish cabaret artist, cartoonist and author of radio plays. In 1986, he founded the first German-speaking Turkish "Knobi-Bonbon-Cabaret" together with Şinasi Dikmen in Ulm, which received the German Cabaret Prize. Twelve years later, Muhsin Omurca started with his solo program. His first comic was printed in the newspaper taz in 2001. In Germany, the artist applies as a pioneer in the genre of "Cartoon-Cabaret", which contents deal with the differences in language, culture and mentality between Turks, the largest immigrant group in Germany, Turkey and other European states. Many of his works were also internationally presented and priced.
