The GABA Sommerfest
GABA Sommerfest 2011 at Cuesta Park The GABA annual Sommerfest has yet again proven to be among the highlights of the year. As we conclude a busy and active first half of the year, the GABA community came together and to enjoy a leisurely Sunday afternoon with friends and family.
We would also like to extend special thanks to the German it-drink Bionade, Gordon Biersch for the German style beer as well as to Esther's German Bakery who provided us with authentic German Brezels, Apfelkuchen and Bienenstich, all of which gave the event its unique German flavor!

Different Sustainability Perceptions Revealed
'Sustainability - How far are we really willing to go to be green? Do Germans and Americans have different perceptions of sustainability? The results of an in-depth study from Rheingold revealed significant cultural differences in how sustainability perceptions and impacts on personal everyday choices. Based on this research, Rheingold provided recommendations for effective marketing campaigns in the American and German Market at the August GABA event "Sustainability - between lip service and true actions - a study exploring American and German consumer psychology".

U.S. software companies are finding abundant business opportunities in Hessen. Epicor Software Corporation, headquartered in Irvine, CA, recently announced that it is growing their team in Frankfurt to meet their continuously increasing client base in Germany. And in June 2011, San Francisco-based Cloudflare announced the opening of a data center in Frankfurt. They join Hessen's IT industry that is comprised of 10,000 IT companies with 94,000 employees.
