Workshops in Germany: Markteintritt in die USA

Despite the existing opportunities, medium-sized German companies hardly dare to expand into the U.S. market. This workshop teaches how to tackle a market entry including business and tax laws. The workshop is also held in Goettingen on May 6, in Pforzheim on May 8, and in Munich on May 11, 2009.

Introducing Our New Volunteers and Stammtisch Leaders

Julia Queck joined GABA to support events and communications. She received her Master's degree in Audiovisual Media Studies from the Film and Television Academy (HFF) "Konrad Wolf" in Potsdam-Babelsberg, and has been the festival director of Europe's biggest student film festival "sehsüchte". Having worked as a project coordinator, producer and director, Julia currently works as Filmmaker Liaison for the San Francisco Film Society, and is looking for a job in the Bay Area.
Cathrin Mugaj looks over membership renewals, and helps at GABA events. She is a business law student at the University of Applied Science Nordhessen (Diploma) in Munich to become a business lawyer. Before moving to Mountain View with her husband and son at the beginning of 2009, she has been working as a patent and trademark paralegal in Munich. She is going to start her degree dissertation in mediation soon.
Together, Julia and Cathrin attend to the GABA Stammtisch in Palo Alto and San Jose.

On the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall please join the German Consulate General, the American Bach Soloists and Maestro Jeffrey Thomas for a memorial concert. This is the last in a series of cultural events organized by German Consul General Rolf Schütte and Consul for Cultural Affairs Karsten Tietz who will use this opportunity to say good-bye before leaving their posts in San Francisco. Tickets are $20, and can be purchased online.
