The Globalization of Venture Capital - Where is it going and why should we care
Thursday, September 28 2006, 6-9pm
Cooley Godward, LLP, 3175 Hanover St, Palo Alto, CA 94304
With the continued globalization of the technology industry there is a growing appreciation that many outstanding companies worthy of VC Investment are born outside the US. As a result, more US VC's are hoping on long-distance flights, and looking at offshore technology startups.
What are VCs looking at overseas? What drives VC investment? What has changed in the last years? What are the "hot" geographical sectors? How are deals different? What does this mean for Silicon Valley startups? Why should we care?
In this event jointly hosted by CSPA, SiliconFrench, GABA, HispanicNet, NetIP, and SIPA, a group of some of the Valley's leading VC's will share their insights and war stories from the road.
COST: $15 Members; $25 Non-Members; $30 at the door.
For more information please visit our event calendar.
And to RSVP please contact [email protected].

The China market has been the center of attention for many venture capitalists. The opportunities are enticing and the path is difficult and confusing. For many of the traditional and institutional investors, the road to China is more of a maze than a "profit super-highway". To bring light to the myth and truth of venture investing in China, and to promote the connections between entrepreneurs and investors in both China and the US, Hua Yuan Science and Technology Association (HYSTA) is presenting the "Investing In China" Conference on September 29, 2006, co-presented by International Business Forum (IBF), a premier venture industry conference organizer. This will be the first China specific venture conference that IBF co-presents with a leading Chinese entrepreneurial and professional organization in the US. The Fairmont, San Francisco, CA
With India's 15-year-old reforms process taking effect, India is poised to be one of the fastest growing economies and now the prime target for the VC community. Aided by a maturing domestic market and a projected 6-plus percent GDP growth rate, India's stock markets are booming like never before and the investment climate, business productivity and technology growth are peaking. This now offers VCs the best promises of returns from the country. Consistent expansion of their IT market also contributes to a continued climb in venture capital investments and with the rising number of US investments as a backdrop, IBF is proud to present its first Venture Investing in India Conference.
