Every summer, we get together to celebrate with GABA members, friends, and newcomers to the Bay area at the GABA Sommerfest at beautiful Cuesta Park in Mountain View.
GABA has always provided information and offered assistance to our newcomers and their family through our various outlets. In order to give all newcomers, who just moved to the Bay Area, a single "go to point" to make connections and to get all their burning questions answered, this year we will take it a step further. In the course of this year's Sommerfest (Sunday, August24, 2014, 3-6PM, at Cuesta Park, Mountain View), we will hold a "Newcomer Fair".
We found that topics of high interest include:
- Visa/green card
- General legal questions
- How do I manage my (German and US) money in the USA?
- Housing (renting/buying)
- Do I really need a US credit card? How do I get one?
- Medical insurance (major differences to the German system and what is the best plan for me and my family?)
- General insurance questions
If you are providing services to the German community, this is great opportunity to meet newcomers in a casual atmosphere! Our exhibition space goes fast! Make sure to contact us today to reserve your space! For more information, please contact us at email@example.com.
