    On a recent visit to Cologne, Germany, GABA member and volunteer Tim Bonnemann started Web Monday, an informal meetup aimed at bringing together users, developers, founders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, researchers, web pioneers, bloggers, podcasters, designers and other folks interested in web 2.0 (in the broadest sense). The goal is to better connect the German web 2.0 scene as well as encourage transatlantic exchange between Germany and Silicon Valley. Since November 2005, Web Monday has spread fast, with meetings now being held in all major German cities. The first Web Monday Silicon Valley is scheduled for June 12, 2006.     Job Board
    GABA is looking for a part-time intern or volunteer to help with event preparation and organization, membership and daily business. We are looking for a committed, reliable volunteer who can help on a regular basis for at least 4-6 months. Needs to be customer-oriented, able to work independently and pay attention to detail. Tasks will include preparation, marketing and follow-up of events, being present at the events to help with registration and execution, talking to members and prospects, preparation of the monthly newsletter, and helping with general business items such as correspondence, phone calls etc.
    Approximately 10-15 hours/week, based in Mountain View. Native German speaker preferred.
