    The IIC (Industrial Investment Council) successfully advised Intel Corporation, the largest semiconductor copmany in the world in screening the R&D landscape in eastern Germany for potential partnerships. As a result of this work, Intel became a member of the Eurpean research network SANDiE (Self-Assembled semiconductor Nanostructures for new Devices in photonics and Electronics - Network of Excellence) based in Leipzig. This move confirms the global competitiveness of eastern Germany's R&D and academic landscape, as well as the attractiveness of the semiconductor cluster Silicon Saxony.
