Tuesday, May 24: GABA-California Telecommunications
Industry Group presents: Mobile Enterprise - Has the real value shown up yet...?
Agenda:
6:00 - 7:00 pm Registration/Networking
7:00 - 8:00 pm Program
8:00 - 9:00 pm Networking Reception
Speaker:

Why you should attend:
This panel discussion will address a number of issues and challenges
arising from "mobilizing" enterprise organizations. For several years
now mobile devices, services and architectures are being adopted by
enterprise organizations with varying effect and degree of success.
While cutting edge 3-5 years ago, mobile solutions are becoming main
stream within enterprises. This trend is being accelerated as IP-based
protocols allow telecommunication and enterprise networks as well as
wireless and wireline networks to converge.
We would like to address and debate real-life issues such as:
- Enterprise Mobility - Real business need or technology push?
- How can value and success be measured?
- ROI vs. organizational impact
- Is real-time necessary?
- What's the value of location or presence information?
- Quo vadis End-to-End Security?
- Service Level Agreements along the value chain - can everybody deliver?
Please join us for this exciting event. It will not only be an excellent source to gain a deeper understanding
of the true value and challenges when it comes to mobile enterprises. It is also a great platform to rub elbows
with industry leaders and potential business partners and suppliers.

Why you need to attend
In recent years, there has been an enormous growth in facility management
(FM) activities worldwide. By outsourcing the non-core activities, the client
organizations can focus on their core business. If Life Science companies in

their research or manufacturing, they might want to think about outsourcing
the Facility Management. Cost, quality, motivation, flexibility, and
availability of skills are all practical reasons why outsourcing may work to the core
business advantage of the organization. GABA-CA's Life Sciences Industry Group and M+W Zander hosts
this unique panel of experts to address the optimization of outsourced
technical, infrastructural and business administration services.

Tuesday, January 25: GABA Munich January Event: Start Your Own Company With/Without Venture Capital
- Markus Brehler, CEO EnOcean
- Michael Hartung, Gründer und CEO von ZKOM
- Christian K. Kalus, Gründer und Präsident von Sigma C
- Sebastian Seiguer, Gründer und CEO der San Francisco Coffee Company
Alle
DM erzielte.

Needs to Know
While Many German successful entrepreneurs have
obtained VC financing at some point, many have found out
that it comes at a price and with strings attached. In

and what are "market" terms.

presentation that will feature a lively mock negotiation
of a Series A term sheet by seasoned experts, as well as a
discussion of current trends in US venture capital terms,
and tips on how to get the most from your US venture
capital investors.

October 7, 2003: 7-9 PM Inflation and / or
Deflation: A German - American Perspective on How to
position your business and personal finances
The Speaker:
Axel Merk
The word 'deflation' has made it to the
front pages of both European and US newspapers. But which
one is it - deflation, inflation, maybe both, that we need
to worry about? What happens if the Federal Reserve Bank
and the US administration try to force the economy away
from deflationary symptoms through monetary and fiscal
policy? How will the European Central Bank react? What can
you do as an individual or a business to position yourself
in this environment. Should you take advantage of the low
interest rates to leverage yourself, or should you try to
lower your debt in this environment? Should you be
concerned about your Dollar or Euro exposure? We will
explain in simple terms how today's risks are different
from what we are traditionally used to, and recommend
simple steps to be prepared for the interesting times we
live in.
If you could not make it to the
presentation or if you would like to review it, a
web-readable version is available at http://www.merkinvestments.com/presentations/InflationDeflation.htm.
