The "GABA Stammtisch" is a moderated Yahoo! group for Germans living in California. It was founded in 2003 and has now over 1,200 members.
The listserv deals with both business and cultural topics relevant to the German community in Silicon Valley. Members network and discuss issues ranging from Visa and employment to German food and medical resources in Silicon Valley.
To become a member of the newsgroup, you first need to subscribe by sending an email to gaba-stammtisch-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
You can unsubscribe anytime from the group.
The "GABA Stammtisch" also offers opportunities to network at regular meetings.
Casual Stammtisch get-togethers are held the third Wednesday of each month alternating in San Jose (Teskes Germania) and Palo Alto (Gordon Biersch). The dates are marked in the GABA event calendar (link zu Calendar)
